It is built in the style typical of the Alentejo. The thick mud walls ensure that the house remains nice and cool even in the middle of summer and in winter they keep the cold out.
Both rooms have shuttered windows overlooking a mountainside with ferns and cork oaks. In one of the two rooms, a cot is available for the still small guest.
Behind the front door is the hallway, which leads to the spacious kitchen diner. This is equipped with simple but complete comfort: a four-burner stove, microwave and refrigerator. Crockery, cutlery, pans and coffee maker are of course also included. Sometimes, in early spring, autumn and winter, it can be pleasant to heat the kitchen. The original fireplace is still intact, but the wood stove next to it heats the room faster and better.
From the kitchen there are patio doors which have a private terrace at the back of the house.
The kitchen also provides access to the bathroom, which has a shower, toilet, bidet and washbasin. The washing machine is also located here.
Casa Velha is equipped for four adults and a child.
